Contraindications
This section describes the situations where I cannot provide treatment due to a potential health risk. If you are in normal health, there are no complications with any of my skin and body treatments. I will always ask you before starting a treatment if you have any health condition that requires special attention. Here are the known risks for my services:
Hot Stone Massage
Due to the elevated body temperature produced by the the stones, this
treatment cannot be provided for people with the following conditions:
- Diabetes, Neuropathy, Peripheral vascular Disorder, High Blood Pressure,
post-surgery injury, or trauma where nerves have been affected.
- Pregnancy, due to the rise in body temperature.
- Cardiac Patients
- Anyone taking medications that have side effects to heat.
- Anyone on Chemotherapy or radiation treatments.
- Anyone with a depressed immune system, including clients with Lupus,
Epstein Barr, Mononucleosis, HIV, AIDS or cancer.
- Clients with Burns, Psoriasis, Skin Cancer, Dermatitis, Eczema, Acne,
Shingles, Herpes or any acute skin condition.
- Any condition in which massage in general is contraindicated.
- Heart disease, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, diabetes,
pregnancy (Wraps are not recommended for Expectant or Nursing Mothers),
periods, epilepsy, skin disease, respiratory disease, hyperthyroid,
or high temperature sensitivity.
- intolerance to iodine, only for Algae wraps
- If you ave any other condition, consult your doctor before using these treatment. Always keep hydrated. Do not drink alcoholic beverages the day of your Body Wrap and for at least 30 hours following your Wrap.
- Alcohol can dilute the Wrap's effectiveness and will be absorbed into your bloodstream much more quickly after a body wrap
- Never have a body wrap when on medication.
- Please do not wax or shave 24 hours prior to these treatments
